*You can teach in a public school under a waiver (if approved) for one year.
Generally, educators may qualify for reciprocity if they have:
Possession of a license/certificate comparable to the license sought issued by a state with which Massachusetts has signed the NASDTEC Interstate Contract and three years of employment within the last seven years under such license or certificate, or
Possession of a regional credential applicable to the license sought, or
Completion of an educator preparation program comparable to the license sought sponsored by a college or university outside Massachusetts that has been accredited by; the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE); the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), or the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), or
Completion of a state-approved educator preparation program comparable to the license sought in a state with which Massachusetts has signed the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement or other agreement accepted by the Commissioner.
