Teach for America has a number of partnerships with graduate schools around the US. These schools offer benefits (scholarships, deferment options, and waived application fees, etc.) to TFA Corps Members and alums. You can find the list of those schools here.


Boston University

Wheelock College of Education & Human Development

  • 33% tuition discount

  • Full time, one year. Part-time also available

  • Ed.M. in Curriculum and Teaching, which offers seven different specialized content tracks

  • Tuition discount can be applied to any of the other online and Boston-based graduate programs within the College, including the popular Ed.M. program in higher education administration! 


Harvard University

Graduate School of Education (HGSE)

  • Two Leadership in Education Awards annually for TFA alumni enrolling in the full-time masters program (1/2 tuition scholarship)

  • Full time, one year

  • 13 Concentrations for the Ed.M Degree, 1 Educational Leadership Doctoral Degree, and 4 Ph.D concentrations

  • Students can cross-register at other Harvard schools (incl. Harvard Law, Harvard Business, and the JFK School of Government)


Boston College

Lynch School of Education

  • Application fee waived for corps members and alumni

  • One-year deferral

  • Tuition remission is offered to candidates interested in careers in urban education through the Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars program

  • Early Decision has an automatic scholarship of $15,000
